Mail Today, Cross Stitch & Listening Pleasure

Guess what I got in the mail today?? Yep.. I skin cover for my Kindle 3. I had the Kindle. I ordered the skin from Decalgirl.com. I will be ordering one for my notebook too. Yes MOM !!!.. I did get a kindle. Got tired of holding those books open and reading at night. I would usually fall asleep and lose my place. I had a Nook first. I ended up taking it back. The Kindle will read to me. Is that being lazy or what!! My thinking is, that I will let it read to me while I am stitching. 2 birds.. 1 stone. Don't it look cute? That skin is called Betty. It also covers the back accept for where the speakers are.

I got this in the mail last week from Brenda.. Bunny Tales!!! Chart pack has 3 different charts and patterns for these designs. I love the 2 pin keeps!! I want to do them so bad.. Right Now!.. But... I have pulled out the over 18 year old Heirloom Afghan.. Yes Mother, It is out of it's tub. I am working on it ! If you don't remember my story on this.. It is for my mom's best friend. I started it over 18 years ago for her first Grandchild...Now 3 grandchildren later, (all girls) I am trying to finish it before that 1st child graduates high school... ummm This May... Hope I get it done. I have to stay focused!

I did go to the library today. I checked out the epic set of The North & The South with Patrick Swayze and a whole lot of other popular stars in that day. The 80's.!! I have seen it before, but I can follow it just listening as I stitch. I also checked out Books on CD. Janet Evanovich - Between The Plums.. I love Janet's books. I have read all the numbers.. Waiting on # 17 for my Kindle. I have ordered. I also read all of Charlaine Harris ( Sookie ) books.. I am waiting on that new one also. I got a new to me, author today, Nevada Barr. It is called 13 1/2. Kind of a psychological suspense book, set in New Orleans. Has anyone read this one? I am going to listen to the CDs.

Well not much else is happening... We are going back on our eating healthy again lifestyle today.. it is becoming a joke... We start each Monday, by Tuesday, lets say.. it is blown! We are having salad and a casserole for tonight. No Bread... Just shot me NOW!! No eating out! That is going to do me in... lol

I Am A Sorry Person !!!

I am so sorry I have not posted lately. I have been busy and lazy... lol Can you be both, because I have. Mom went to doctor Thursday. Her P.E.T. scan was Clear. WE are very Thankful. She will go back in another 3 or 6 months, I can't remember. All I heard was it was clear and then everything else did not matter... Our prayers were answered. She will have to keep going back every 6 months for test then down to once a year and I Forgot.... Duhhhh I will be asking her about it again. Friday guess what??? Yes !!! Washer got a new motor !!! yea !! I have yet to wash One load of clothes and what day is this??? Sunday lol
Yesterday I don't remember what I did. I know I took a nap at some point. Today, I woke up with energy.. Yes, you heard me correct... Mom came by after church. Raeanne was here with the kids... After they all left, I got out on the back porch and started getting Christmas stuff ready to put out in the out building.. Well, I went out there and something... Raccoon or something has been living out there. Poop everywhere. I cleaned some and then headed back over to Raeanne's house. Glad it is just across the road. I rode the lawnmower.. LOL I am Lazy... After about 3 or 4 trips back across to our house, I am glad I had that lawnmower. Josh wanted to ride. He did get some sun shine Meme!!! Mom is always saying he needs to get outside when the sun is shinning.. It was a little cool but not cold. He had on his rubber boots and coat with a hood. He was outside for about 3 hours. We burned a stump in their front yard and he helped me collect sticks to put on the fire. We were worried he would fall in the fire trying to put the stick on top... But No.... Gigi ( Me) reach down and pick up a HOT stick... No, I am not dumb !!! Just stupid sometimes... That ended my playing in the fire... Poppa and Josh worked on the garden tractor. Gas tank was full of Water. They had to drain and try to get it to Crank. Raeanne had went to pick up some KFC.. Chicken... Josh was so hungry he started cramming the chicken in his mouth. Sucking down the ranch sauce right out of the cup... You can imagine what we all smelled like.. Wood smoke, mixed with Gasoline, mixed with KFC, and Josh smelling like Ranch dressing. A very tiring day, but fun.
I did stitch some last night of my Halloween ornaments. I will post picture tomorrow. I am going for a goal of 1 a month to finish before Halloween 2010. I have a black Beaded and glittered tree to hang them on. I bought it last Halloween from Home Goods Store. I did find my white Lizzie Kate Feather Tree. I need to get started on ornaments to go on it. I will post picture of my trees tomorrow. I need to get me a shower and head to bed to stitch some... Stay tuned for pictures tomorrow.

Still Building The Ark !!!!

I love that title !!! I am SICK OF RAIN !!! I did get some things that had been in the back of the car moved over to the trailer. Now... Dewayne is fussing because I piled the totes in the rooms that carpet needs to be installed. I am trying to hurry him up !!! and he does not even know it....
No stitching on anything of mine lately. I am trying to finish the project for Brenda by next week. I did stop at Hobby Lobby tonight and get some floss. Walked around and seen to much stuff I wanted so, I left. Don't need any temptation without any Money. I still don't see some people saving their money. While in checkout line with my 3 pieces of floss, which came to the total of $1.09. Lady in front of me had a buggy loaded with vases, flowers, tin wall hangings. 2 or 3 big pictures, and a bunch of small Home decorating stuff.. Her total was $435.52... I was being nosey...hehehe I thought DAMN.... She is keeping our retailers in business !!! LOL You go Girl !!! Because I can't afford to.... Not a pity party here. I just decided, I don't want a lot of nic-nacks around over through when I move. I don't want to dust... I have decided I am going to have the biggest yard sale I have ever had. Everything Must Go !!! Now family members... If you have ever given me anything in the past.. I might still have it.... LOL and you want it back.... JUST ASK. LOL.. I will gladly give it to you. I have 28 years of STUFF. I hate Downsizing.
Now on to other things... Great Things... My babies are coming home tomorrow. They have been at Chip's parents this week. Uncle Charles died and they stayed longer than, they thought they would. I have missed them all so much.. Been quite around here. Miss all the hugs and kisses !!! from my Joshjosh & Ms Froggy... ( that is want meme calls Zoe)... LOL Well, I need to get to work. Been gone all afternoon.. Ark is coming along nicely....

Trolling Motor Season !!!

I decided that since today was a rainy Monday I would post some finished cross stitch. I have a tub full of these. I am waiting on ... I don't know what I am waiting on... LOL . I need to finish them. Here are just some from tub:

This is a Trail Creek Farm Kit. Has a black & white with pink fringe pillow that I will need to attach this cross stitch to the front with some buttons... Now why have I not done this???

This is a kit from Heart In Hand. As you can see I have finished it... But have not put a ribbon hanger on it to hang on the tree at Christmas. Why Not??? I ask.... NEXT...

This is a design for a pillow top from Sekas Design. Dragonflies. More pretty than picture. I used sparkly floss in this and it is on light blue sparkle fabric. I did for Raeanne's room, Years.... ago.. Have not made into a pillow.. Oh, by the way, I have started the Ghost Sekas design with Glow in the Dark Threads... and I have the Turkey /Thanksgiving pattern also.. Why not finished??? Next!

2 Lizzie Kate Kits - Claire & Henry . These are to be made into stand-ups. I have not finished them, They also have a son & daughter, But I knew I would not stitch them, so I sold them on Ebay... I need to sew these into their upright positions soon.. Maybe before Easter. and Why Not???? NEXT !



OK.... This is a stocking design from Shepherd's Bush. This is the one I had stitched for my niece Hannah, when she was 1 year old... The child is now 9.... I have also stitched Raeanne, Dewayne, & me a stocking. 4 stockings finished in stitching, but not made into a stocking!!! I have Joshua, Chip, & now Zoe to do... now I moment in Prayer.... Please Lord let me complete these for my whole family... Amen. And why have I not finished, I have all the beads and charms to go on these... and I have to give them some hair.. OH. I got a headache!!!! I am making myself have a headache thinking about this.
And Just think... This is just a little off the top of my Tote Of Tomorrow.. That is what I am going to call it.. Tote of Tomorrow. What Have I been doing??? I think I just like to stitch these and then I think they are complete... LOL Are maybe the Magic Finishing Fairy will step in and take over... I'll let you know.. I have not seen her... She by-passed my house without even looking my way. That is my life's story...
Well, now that I have a headache and am depressed... LOL . I will go back to stitching ... I am still working on design for Brenda, NO Peek, Per-Brenda...

Hot Hot & Hot !!!

It is Hot as Hades here in Alabama. We are under an air quality alert today. With heat index it has been around 103 degrees. In the south this is Too HOT. My mom was saying Monday that we have to stay inside close all the blinds and drapes to keep the sun out and turn those air conditioners down to 68 to stay COOL. She is right! So I am sitting here in the dark at 11:30 am.

From what I understand a lot of the USA is Hot or Rainy.

I did get two projects finished yesterday. Raeanne started a cross stitch picture several years ago called," I may be a Prince" Cute.. I finished the stitching and yesterday made a pillow out of it. I also finished stitching Kitten Pinkeep and sewn it together yesterday. I still have the crosses to stitch around the edges of the cat. Quilt is Joshua's, has bears and camping scene. CUTE

I went over to Mobile Home Disaster site today. I keep forgetting my camera. Too Hot to work. No air cond. yet. DH's back is out and we have not done anything in the last 2 weeks. We have carpet to lay,counter tops to do, lighting to put up, and 1 bathroom to finish. List is longer but will not bore you. Just a complete overhaul.

I have to get back to my own housework. I am trying to keep up this place and make a home of the other... I look around at all the stuff I need to yard sale and it is to Hot for Yard Sales. I have been putting some things for sale on Ebay. Mostly clothes & Cross Stitch. I need to list some of Dewayne' things. Talk again later......

New Cheap Cross Stitch Find !!!!

I was so excited today to find a frame for a cross stitch project. I stitched this picture back in 1989. I think it was a Twisted Threads Design, " Listen Honey" Series. I found the frame at our Walmart. They are redecorating the store and had this wood frame marked down from $ 13.98 to $ 5.00 clearance.

When I saw it I said " Witches' Picture" !!! Yea... I have a lot of stitched pictures I need to have framed and also sew into pillows. I used to belong to what they called Round Robin stitching groups. I have 2 finished projects from the stitching group. I need to frame one and make the other into a pillow.

I got the mat cut from a frame shop that has now closed.

We used to have a lot of cross stitch shops and framing shops in Alabama. I now cannot find one never my area of Birmingham .

If anyone out there knows of a cross stitch shop, please let me know. I have been ordering online. I have been using Hobby Lobby when they have the 50% off framing coupon. But, I love the frames that a lot of the designers use. I just discovered all the finished stitching when I dug out the Witches. I want to look at them all and see where to begin with framing & such.
