I have decided that for the first time I would join this year's Stitch Maynia. I have kitted up a basket of projects so that I would be ready on May 1st.
I have also been getting ready for the Prim Stitchers Society Retreat. I was at the Atlanta Retreat in 2016, but I missed last year. I'm not able to attend this year, but I will have a table set up.

I have been stitching on some pinkeeps for my table. They were a big seller in 2016. I'll have different ones this year.

These are some from 2016. I will have the Bee again.
I just looked at my calendar! It's 2018! I have got to get myself together.

Right now I'm stitching away on some Valentine Freebie stitching by Hands On Designs. I just finished a SAL with Priscilla and Chelsea. I will be able to show that later on in the week. I finished a model stitch for Brenda of With Thy Needle And Thread. Super cute!

And I have the Flu!

I hope I still have some followers....

I promised myself at the first of the year I had to get back into blogging. I miss reading blogs too. Since I have been sick I have tried to catch back up on reading while laying around, drinking tons of fluids and going to the bathroom. Lol.

I have so much stitching to share. Got to get better....
Until later....

I forgot about a shopping trip I went on with Terri ( Dixiesamplar) and Joyce a couple of months ago! We had a great time. We went to 2 cross stitch shops in North Alabama, the only 2 in the state.
This is just some of my haul back!
I want to start off by saying, Whoosh~~~~

I have been busy model stitching and stitching on own projects! Plus me and hubby has had a lot of dentist appointments lately. He is getting new teeth with implants put in. Ouch! It is taking months to do because the bone has to grow to the implants before they will put his teeth in. Me... I had a crown put on a tooth that held my particle. That lasted 2 months... Then I went back with a big knot above that tooth, had to go to the oral surgeon Monday. It was fractured and had to be pulled. So, about 600.00 later, I have NO TOOTH! He said it was such a pretty crown too! (me crying) These things always happen to me! But on to stitching related.....

I have been going to thrift stores and getting things to repurpose for my stitching. Like this wooden hanger. I sanded and painted it with black chalkboard paint. I then waxed it. I have in mind to stitch a Homespun Elegance Welcome design to go in it.

These are the four I bought. They will get sanded, painted and waxed, then I will take the 2 middle and maybe attach some Needle Punch.
I also did some Thrift Cross Stitch Saving. This Christmas design was 1.00. I picked it up and I knew I wanted to make a cube design from it. I will repurpose it for Christmas.
You can see it was made in 1985. It was very clean to have been in a hoop. I have already removed it from its hoop.
Today I have been in my studio cleaning and organizing all this stuff. I put away BBD - Anniversaries Of The Heart today. I have a model to stitch. It went back in the Project Roll from Faye at Carolina Stitcher. Seen it at last year's market for the Primitive Stitchers Society in Atlanta. I missed out on buying one, so I put an order in. Faye zipped it out and mailed it right to me! I love it!

I also had some great mail this past week:
I see a punch needle design on the round thing. The whale tail board is what I have been working on. I cut out some of these to sale on my Etsy. Have I listed them as of yet? No... I hope to do that tomorrow.

I designed a punch needle Whale Scissor Tray last summer. I have to get the pattern printed out and also figure out how to sale by PDF on my Etsy shop. That will be tomorrow too. lol I will also offer the pattern and the tray combo. Well.... I need to get back to cleaning and collecting, maybe not as much collecting... lol
Until Later.....
As promised, I'm showing my stitching on Blackbird Designs - Anniversaries Of The Heart charts. I have been stitching on these designs for over two years now.. I just stitch on them when I don't have anything else to stitch.. which is rare! lol
I'm personalizing each block. Each of my family has a block. The picture above is showing how far I have stitched. This is stitched on 30 count natural linen with 2 strands of floss over 2. I have changed some of the floss colors because they were not showing up on the natural linen. I hope you enjoy my show & tell.

The first block is a snow color block. We lived in Ludington Michigan in 1970 & 71. I was 5 years old. That was my first and only airplane ride. This block reminded me of my time living in a white winter wonderland. I personalized it by adding Mich and my A for me, a J for my mom and a P for my dad ( PeeWee ) and the year 1970. My brother was not born at this time..
The second block is for me and my husband. We married in 1981. Added our names and year we married along with a T on the door.
The fifth block is my dad's block. RMW stands for his name, Robert Manly Whitaker, He was a Jr. 1941 is stitched in the roof for the year he was born. He is no longer with us but I will be writing all info on the back after it is framed, therefore we may live long after we are not here. I hope. lol

The sixth block is for my brother. He is Robert Manly Whitaker III. We call him Trey. I stitched the W and his birthday 1-12 along with his name Trey and the year of his birth 1972. He always played in the mud and water growing up so I thought this block was just right for him. Water.

The seventh block is for my mom, Johnette and it says Dear Mom. I stitched a D because her maiden name was Duncan. and the year of her birth on the right side of the house. She loves gardens with flowers so this block was just right for her.
The next block is for my grand daughter Zoe Peyton Pruitt. She loves butterflies and all animals. This block was right for her. I stitched her name, date of birth and the year.
On to the next ones, number nine and ten. Number nine is my husband's block. October block. That is the month he was born. He name is Henry Dewayne Taylor so, the H for Henry, added his birthday and year of birth and the T.
The number ten block is where I have stopped stitching for now. It will be my mom and dad's marriage block. Number eleven block is next, it is a special on for me. Reminds me of living in Perry Missouri in the year 1975-1976. The last block number twelve will be the block about me the stitcher.

I hope y'all have enjoyed this little show & tell on my blog. I will be doing more show & tell on my blog as I get back in the habit of blogging. I sure have missed blogging and reading all my favorite blogs. Facebook kind of took over.....

Hope you will come back to visit.

I guess Until Later.... Means 3 months later! Where is the time going and what have I be doing? That is the million dollar question.

Well, I didn't make it to the Primitive Stitchers Society Retreat( PSS ) this year. I ahhh and ooddd over all the pictures and lived through the videos that Ridgely did! Great videos of all the stash I didn't get to see or buy.. Do I sound down in the dumps? Maybe it is because I restarted Weight Watcher today! I guess all that moping around this weekend while everyone was in Ohio got to me.
Plus I think I ate to much.. Nope, I know I ate to much! lol

I started the first time on March 2nd of this year. I had lost 14 pounds by April 15th. I was so happy that I decided I could do this on my own with a free app. Thought I would save the 19.99 a month by downloading the Spark People app. Well, it counted calories and not points. The new WW was doing great for my diabetes because it makes you decide if you want to eat those 5 Hersey Kisses in 2 seconds flat, I mean gobble them up! Yes.. I did do that once....only once....and subtract a lot of points from my only 30 points a day OR eat an apple, banana, or watermelon for ZERO points..
Well, the story is within that 2 weeks I gained about 4 pounds back.. OH NO!!! That ain't going to happen on my watch! lol I deleted that Spark People app and got right back online last night with Weight Watchers! YAY!!! I'll be glad to pay 49.00 every 3 months until I reach my goal weight.

Enough about the weight.. I have missed blogging and reading blogs. So along with accounting for my food, I'm going to start accounting for my blog posting too.

These are some pictures of what I have been doing. Mainly woodwork. I have been making my Primitive Needlework Hangers, Boards, Paddles and Barn wood things. Here are some pictures:

Sitting here stitching and waiting to see what the weather brings to us in central Alabama. I have been stitching on two projects.
This is the day by Tracy Riffle. It was in a Just CrossStitch magazine. I started it a couple of years ago. I put it aside to Stitch other things. I decided this year would be the year that I finished projects that I had put down or in my case, in the drawer that is neglected.
Go ahead and get on to me for this new start. I did start a new Stitch. Brenda's January Word Play. I have 6 of them stitched. I guess that means 6 more to stitch!
I just sent a model project back to Brenda and waiting on another one to Stitch. I love stitching her designs. I'm on my tablet so I will try to attach pictures. Here we go...
I guess I will have to try another way. Using blogger to blog this post. I guess I need to read up more on it.
Until later....

DT (hubby) is off on vacation this week, We should have been on the rode doing some sight-seeing but no, I had to go see the doctor yesterday. Bad sinus infection. Plus the meds have me whipped.

I'm stitching on The Primitive Needle A & E. This is a picture before I started. PTP Mello Linen and the Silk threads. This was a WIP that I pulled back out. I hope to finish it this week. I will post my progress picture tomorrow.
I was stitching while watching The Walking Dead. I got to looking at Adam & Eve that I was stitching... hmmmm They look like Zombies! Yikes! Look how white their faces are..

They faces are white and their bodies are gray color.. I may have to change that to liven them up some.. change to pinkish flesh floss.

I need to finish off some stitching. I have piled it all on a table. Some are drums, some are pillows and about two need to be framed. I also have a couple that I don't know what to do what them. I will post pictures tomorrow. Maybe y'all can come up with some ideas for me..
Hello to anyone that is still following me.... I will say I really miss blogging. Please forgive me for being away so long. It is just so hard to find the time.... But, I will try to be A Better Blogger! lol

I'm still model stitching, plus I'm designing my own needle punch patterns, also cutting, sanding, and painting boards. Plus I'm cutting paddles and boards from old barn wood to mount stitching.
It has been so hot in Alabama! I have been working in this heat doing all that cutting and sanding.

I started a Facebook business page to sale. Just yesterday I opened a Etsy shop for my items. Don't know how it will work out....

I had a booth at the Prim Stitcher Retreat. Looking around for some pictures....
I'm back and I'm rested! It was my first retreat and I loved every minute of it. I had a booth/table at the Merchant Mall and I also took the classes. The classes were great! Elizabeth of Dames Of The Needle and Nan of Threadwork primitives did a class together. A beautiful mermaid needle drum. We could finish the drum before we left or wait till later.. I waited.. I had to go straight from classes to the Merchant Mall so I did not have time to finish. We also had a great class with Faye of Carolina Stitcher! We learned how to finish a wool strawberry and a cute applique heart mat. (pictures below)
Next, One of my Besties table. Dixie Samplar Linens. I sorry I could have gone overboard at her table, but I buy from her all the time and I just needed these two colors, Toasted Coconut and Runestone to finish my collection. lol I got the new special dyed for retreat color! Georgia Peach Cobbler! Beautiful Color!

Theresa Meloon had her new release for the retreat, Be Mine Pin Drum! She sold out in Georgia, so I waited to get when I got home. I bought the linen from Dixie Samplar for the heart on top. It sold at at the retreat too! Tee made the necklace! I have been wanting one for a long time! I finally got to see them and I choose this one. The linen is a light lilac. So pretty!

I left Sandra for last. I worked her table. She was not able to come this year. Her models are beautiful! I mean beautiful. I stood for hours helping stitchers chose which ones they wanted and listened to them oww and ahhh. Then I bought these two. The colors in the Cat are beautiful!

I will stop here for tonight... I have pictures from the retreat and I will show my table space.
Until tomorrow... I'm back on the dinosaur desk top. Laptop is acting up again. I think they only last 3 years at tops.. urghhhh

Made this cute mouse pin cushion from a pattern by Hudson's Holidays. Turned out super cute.
We went to the Smoky Mountains back in September. I went to Dixie Darlin's Shop, The Pattern Hutch, and a great shop called The Smoky Mountain Spinnery. I fell in love with hooked rugs. I asked about hooking and the next thing I knew... I met Rhonda Thistlethwaite and she showed me how to hook. Now I'm in love with Hooking! She is a great teacher. I came out of the shop with this sunflower kit with all the wool to finish, a hooker's hook, a frame and frame cover! I'm on a roll now!! lol
I'm still here! I have a new computer and it is not going good! I'm trying to start back blogging, but it is hard going from Windows Vista ( if you can figure out how long ago that was) to Windows 10. lol I just bought the HP tower. I had a new big monitor. Thought the monitor was the problem. Nope it was the computer. It had been worked on so much.. I just decided to crush it and get a new one. I also got a new printer too. It is wireless, you should have seen me trying to figure out where the cord was to run to the computer.. DUH! It's wireless. It has been a day here at the olde homestead...

I have pictures of my finishes to show.. once I get them loaded into the new machine, I will be able to show what I have been doing. Just bare with me please.. I'm an old dog trying to learn new tricks, or in this case new everything! lol

Till later....

With Thy Needle and Thread Designs. Love all these designs! Brenda released about 11 designs this year for Spring! I already have ideas for the little pinkeeps!
Then my favorites... I love any charts with animals, so these projects I just had to have! Stacy Nash Designs! That was my mail for today!!!

I have been busy in the craft studio. I finished some stitching and I went to Michaels (and used my coupons) and came across some frames, well... not frames as a frame, but chalkboards that I saw had other uses..

This cutie was a chalkboard frame. I removed the chalkboard from the back and made it in a frame for my Shepherds Bush - Spring Lamb. I had stitched this one years ago. I had been looking for just the right frame. I think I found it. It was a little long, so a added a piece and fabric with burlap trim and a little ribbon. What do y'all think?

Another Chalkboard. This one is an easel. I cut a piece of cardboard the same size as inside of the frame and spray glued some fabric to it. Then I made the flat square with the design. I bought some sticky Velcro and added to the panel and the back of the cross stitch. I can just change out each month. I also can change out the cardboard with another fabric covered cardboard square. It just pops in the frame. Now I need to start May's design. I love these word plays by WTN&T.

I have more stitching to finish today. I finished 2 pin keeps last night. I stuffed with Lavender. They smell so good. I will be putting them on my sell site - Homestead Needleworkes. I have a pin drum cut and ready to put together. So stayed tuned....
Till Later....

This is the Punchneedle I finished this past week. I had it all finished and I thought it needed a little something something. So, I added the rope trim. I think that finished it off. It's a pattern by With Thy Needle & Thread - Cupid's Arrow. I love my little Love Birds above! it was a gift from Terri - Dixie Samplar last year.
Speaking of Terri... I met up with her and Joyce this weekend. We made a trip to our local cross stitch shops, They are about 2 hours from me and 5 or more hours from Terri and Joyce. We had a great time. I had made a couple of goodies for them.
Sorry I have not been blogging since October. I have been under the weather with stomach issues. Had a lot of test ran on me. But, I did receive good news yesterday. I seem to have a Spastic Colon or IBS. I also have to change what I'm eating... Which is not hard, because if I eat something that doesn't agree with me, I know it by being sick at my stomach or living in the bathroom.. Yuck, I know... To much info!
Anyway, I am glad to be back! I have stitched a new model for Brenda Gervais. It should be out soon. I'm working on 2 models for Michelle May - Raspberry Rabbits.
I have stitch a lot of designs since October. I have punched some too! I will be in my studio finishing this afternoon. I should have some pictures tomorrow, so stay tuned, if you are still reading my blog. lol
I hope my friends and readers in the blizzard areas are all staying warm and safe!
The above picture was taken in my area last year during our short lived blizzard on this date in 2013. Yes... motorist just left they cars in the middle of the road! Got to love living in the south! lol
Till tomorrow!
