SICK AND STITCHING!

First things first, get it out of the way. I have walking Pneumonia again. Doctor seems to think I need tubes in my ears. I last had tubes when I was 6. May have to do it again to stay well.. But the upside is more stitching for me, if DH will quit calling to check on me about every 2 to 3 hours.. lol
Terri / Dixie Samplar came up my way this weekend! We had a great visit Saturday. We went to Michael's, Hobby Lobby and hit a couple of Antique and Flea Market type places. Had a great Mexican lunch and that night talked DH to joining us for Dinner at Chili's. So I guess you can say we made a whole day of it!  I love it when Terri comes north, we have a great time.
She had me some of her great Butter Cream Linen. She hand dyes it yourself. She also put in some of fabrics she had dyed. I just love anything hand dyed.

The squares of linen had spooky names.  Thank you Terri! She also gifted me with other things, I forgot to get a picture off. Next Post for sure.  Brain has a fever..
This is just some of the things I got at the craft stores.
The stamps to age my stitching. The hang tags to use on some things, and the wooden thingie, well... I seen where someone had stained it and stitched and made the bigger end a pin cushion.

I could not pass up this deal of original price of 56.00 now on clearance for 20.00. I will use it for Needlepunch.

Of course, I got a pocket watch!  lol  and some fabric to finish some stitching. I also got some Evenweave Terri says she uses to dye. I will try my Black Walnut stain on it.  We will see how it turns out!
I did purchase some leaflets and a kit off a Facebook Stash page. They are below:

 Crossed Eyed Cricket

I love The Birth Of A nation chart. Sandra's (HSE) Pumpkin will be the next thing I stitch.
That is all for today... Till later....

I'M BACK !!!! Picture Heavy

All I'm saying is this is on my craft table!!

Time to start thinking of Fall and Halloween stitching! I'm stitching on a Prairie Schooler for this Witch's Hat. I'm borrowing Vonna's idea!  Thank You Vonna! She has such great finishes.
It's been a short but hot, no rain, kind of summer here in Bama.
We went on Vacation the last week of June to Panama City Beach Florida. It was great weather, but the water had a lot of seaweed and jelly fish.  Not complaining... but last year's Destin trip spoiled me to the ocean. Destin has beautiful white sand and so clear, you could see your painted toes in chest deep water. Here are some pictures of our trip. Fun time with The Grands!
Zoe moved with the shade of the umbrella. lol
Ankle deep, that is a far as she would go. She didn't like the seaweed. That green water is all weed. You had to wade through it to get out to a sandbar.
After some girls were stung by jelly fish. Josh decided it was castle building time.
The beach was real nice. Not crowded.

Those are my knees. When all my freckles grow together, I'll have one darn great tan!!  lol
I have to tell a tale on Zoe. She was not tall enough last year to ride in the bumper boats. It broke her heart so bad. She had never forgot that, so this year so kept asking was she tall enough to ride them this year. Gigi (me) told her if not, I would buy her some heels to make sure she got to ride.  She passed the height to ride. It also meant she could not only ride but drive these!
Oh No!! Yep... She has never driven anything. But, she was going to drive because Josh was.. Her and Josh were in the first cars... I have to tell you, we laughed so much we were crying... Do y'all remember in Road House.. (Patrick Swayze) That bad guy that was driving his convertible all over the road from side to side while he was singing!  Yep...
That is her singing and hitting the rail from side to side! The attendant had to just follow her around and get her back pointed in the right direction. It was so funny!

Josh is a pro. He was so glad he passed someone!

I got this great shot! She would press the gas and take off and her head would fly back and she would start singing till she hit the wall.  I thank the attendant for being so great and taking time to show her how the gas and brake worked. She got really good by the last 2 laps. She was so happy!!
I told y'all picture heavy!  lol
Josh was tall enough to drive Bumper Boats! Another Oh No!!!
He was so excited, he was dancing!  Poppa was out there with them. Mom and Zoe shared a boat.

I rode something!  Hold your excitement!!! The Ferris Wheel!
Josh said he would ride with me..
I forgot we went through the Haunted House. G Version.. They radio and said we had kids so they went easy on us. Boy, was I glad. Josh doesn't like scary but Zoe does..
If you ever go to Panama City Beach. Look up this place!

Thomas Donut and Snack Shop. Little place near the Laguna Beach side of PCB. Handmade donuts . FRESH! Krispy Kreme doesn't even get close to these heavenly donuts!
Looking at that picture just makes me want some! All kinds of flavors. Key Lime, coconut, chocolate, red velvet and many more I can't remember.
I will know start part 2 of update.. If you are still with me.. lol
Cross Stitching Update.

I have been organizing my linens and trims and floss. So far, I have the box with my linen. I rolled each piece and wrote what brand, size, count, and color.
I bought these old peg style clothes pins at an estate sale. I rolled my antique trims on some and put them in this old mason jar. All is still a work in progress. I will show next post, a box of old patterns I got at the same estate sale.

I stitched Prudence Blackstone by Chartmakers. I'm trying to stitch them all as bowl fillers.  I have two stitched. I'm about to start Hannah Skinner.
This was a freebie by Praiseworthy Stitches. I kind of made it primitive. Has PCB 2014 for our Beach trip. Since I joined The Primitive Stitchers Society on Facebook, I have found so many designs I want to stitch. They are bad enablers!  lol But I love the group. Thank you Terri - Dixie Sampler for starting this group. A lot of the Prim Designers are members.
This pillow has a story. I rescued it from a bad frame job at a flea market. Someone (HH) in 1990 stitched this train. I live about 3 hours from The Chattanooga Choo Choo.  It was framed in a wood and metal frame. Bad discolored. Maybe a smoker?  I took it out and guess what? They had mounted it on stuff (sponge type cushion) that was stuck to it.. Yuck! I couldn't even scrape it off. It tried sewing the pillow and all the presser foot did was stick to the sponge stuff. I had to finally put wide tape all over design to sew a square around it. Had to sew through the tape. Then I threw the needle in the machine away. Gummed up.. I did spray it with some black walnut to help hide the discoloration.

This is my new start. I wish they would release these again. They are so hard to find. I did found one on Ebay. I cooked the linen myself in the oven with coffee.
Just a hint of what is in the Q-snap!
I have updated y'all enough, I Think...
I will spare everyone till next week with the Reno Bathroom project pictures.
I will leave a great picture of The Grands on the last day of Beachcation! Till Later....
My Loves.

GIFTS IN THE MAIL AND WHAT I FOUND !!! PICTURE HEAVY......

Welcome Back. Oh... That is me that has been gone!  lol  I am back for a little time than vacation comes. I will be at the beach soaking up the rays with my lily white skin!  I can't believe June is already here. It's sure hot and humid here in Bama. I had forgot to post what had came from Mr. Postman.  I was in Dixie Samplar's Easter/Spring Exchange. I sent out my package and I never received one. Oh well.. I thought, these things happen. I told Dixie Samplar not to worry about it, but Dixie Samplar being the sweetest nicest person, made up for my partner and sent me a whole bunch of goodies and the Cutest Spring Pillow! I had seen it on her blog and fell in love with it! It is now sitting on my desk. Sorry my pictures are so blurry.. One day the sun is shinning so bright and the next day it is rainy.. So camera doesn't want to take good pictures. I think... But it may be the camera person. lol

Cutest pillow ever!  I loved how Terri made the flower and it matches great!  I know bad picture but beautiful pillow.

These were some of the goodies in my bag with the pillow!  Love it all!

And there was still more! I just kept pulling out of that bag! Look at that silk thread and the cute Shepherd's Bush Needle Minder!  The little strawberry is so cute too. I already have plans for it!Beautiful bag too. We had met up that Saturday to go to the Stitch - in outside of Atlanta. My first.. I think I mentioned it in an earlier post. We had such a great time.. We forgot to post pictures!

This was the pattern I was so hoping Jeanne would have there at her mobile shop. It was!! I changed out the colors. Terri/Dixie Samplar helped me. I wanted more darker bolder blue and red. I will stitch my on Grey or Dirty Linen. I'm going to use CC Blacksmith Blue and WDW Lancaster Red instead of the GA Tin Bucket and CC Used Brick.
She had door prizes and I won these packs of needles! I was so excited. Someone knew I needed needles!  lol  Sizes 24, 26 and 28.
Terri won the cutest Scissor fob!

I also bought some Linen. I needed some 36 count and 28 count.I seemed to have purchased a lot of 32 count in the years pass, for some reason.  I love the feel of those Lakeside Linens! ahhhhh.

Last Friday I went on a Treasure Hunt for My Cow Bell and an Old Wash Board.  I'm still looking.. They are hard to find! I did found these things at the antique shop in my area. I have plans for all of it. That little Trowel will get a needlepunch on the other side and that way I can stand it up.

Another idea for needlepunch was this Longaberger Paddle I found for a dollar. This is the back side. It is ruff on the front side and someone painted country geese on it. It will get a new sanding  on the front and a pretty needlepunch design.

Best Friend from High Schools Mom had a yard sale this past weekend. I got this quilt. I had to have it after I seen this square. She told the story of this quilt. She had a refrigerator they were selling back in 1980. They advertised it. This lady called and asked if they would trade it for 2 quilts. She knew the lady and knew that she made quilts. She loved quilts and said yes, thinking they would be new quilts. The lady came to get the refrigerator and the lady handed her two raggedy quilts. She said she just smiled as they loaded the refrigerator and waved when she drove off.  lol  She gave one to her daughter, a couple of years ago, and kept this one. You sure can feel the difference in 100% cotton and it is so heavy!  I explained to her I would be cutting it up.. She didn't mind at all, she was glad I could use it.
I had been having a tired and bad week with the remodel of the other trailer. Issues came up with my Aunt. I always seem to let things bother me until it makes me sick. There is nothing I can do to handle the situation. I have to let it go.. But I always get myself upset before I have my mother tell me to Let It Go!

I happened to go out to my mailbox that bad day and I received a packet from Shell / The Raspberry Rabbits. I am working on some things for her now, and I thought she was sending me some more. I opened it up and the cutest Guardian Angle Punchneedle  pattern from Brenda was in it with the Balls of thread to punch!  That made me smile and lifted me up out of a fog. Thank you again Shell! Aren't crafting friends great!

This past week I also received Lori/ NFF's Blessed Bee pattern in the mail. Can't wait to punch this one.. I need about 5 of me to do all this I want to do!

In my Junking around, I found this book for one dollar and this candlewick thread for .25. Does anyone remember Candlewicking?
I used to do it. One pattern in the book catch my eye...

Sorry picture is so bad color page and white thread on white fabric. It is an Eagle with a shield. I'm thinking of shrinking the pattern to just use one thread instead of three to candlewick the eagle and shield only and make a pin keep. Just Thinking.....I may use part of that block on the old quilt for it!
Enough brain storming for now. I have to get back to work on Shell's Designs!! lol
Just letting y'all know where I have been, what I have been up to, and what may be coming up!
Till Later.....

BIG WEEKEND.....

I had a busy weekend. My birthday was Saturday and Mother's Day was Sunday. DH took me to do a little Flea Market shopping Saturday.

I got these item to make into some Prim Things. The ticket on the two bells said Cow Bells, but I think they may be Goat Bells. They are not big. I have plans to needle punch something for the top of them. I have pin cushion plans for the funnel. The two mashers I have ideas to needle punch something for the top of them.  The scales I just got because the prices were real great. I love the beige scale with Sears on it. I will keep it in the sewing room. The Blue Ribbon Scale has a lot of rust, but I love the patina. I may use it to hold a bird nest. I plan to put on my old library desk.
We also had Ballgame Day Saturday.  Tournaments started for Josh.

The pictures are blurry because it had rained all night before and morning. The sun came out and it turned HOT.  We laugh at Josh because when he runs he's watching his feet. I will just say he trips a lot and leave it at that..

That's his dad 3rd base coach. He is telling him to run to home plate.  Next game is Friday night. The weather channel says our temps will be in the 40's Friday night.. What we will freeze!  lol

Then, Sunday arrived!  Mother's Day! Happy Belated Mother's Day!  My Dear SIL had a get together at their house. Brother grilled and the pool was available for a swim. Yes, It is warm enough in May for The Grands to swim.

Frog Boy AKA Josh had a great time in the pool. He has lost about 4 teeth in the last 2 months. Hubby says he looks like a Jack - O -Lantern!  lol  Zoe didn't like the pool. It was over her head and she wanted to do something else!

My brother brought out the golf cart and she took off running to get in!  That is more her speed. That is my brother with her. I have a story about this Golf Cart....

My dad bought this cart when our Daughter was 12. It was blue and not jacked up. For years we used it camping. Raeanne grew up with it. She drove it before she had a car. She and her friends drove it all over the campgrounds. It even had a radio in it! Only Grandchild at the time. We had to charge those batteries every night.  lol
Raeanne turned 16 got a car and that was the end of cart driving....
My dad decided he wanted it painted yellow and lifted. My parents by then had a place up on the backwater and it was rode a lot by my parents and Sadie (the dog).  Then my dad had a massive heart attack and passed away.  SIL was pregnant with grandchild #2. One month later Hannah was born. My mom passed Golf Cart to Hannah. So I call the picture above - Golf Cart Generation #2. Hannah is driving, Zoe is in the middle, and Josh is showing out! Raeanne started out driving this cart and now her children are riding in it. I hope one day, when Hannah gets her car, that it will come back full circle to Raeanne for her kids to enjoy for years to come.
So that was my weekend!  I have a great weekend coming up with my stitching friend, Terri. ( Dixie Samplar ). My first Stitch In!!

Till Later.....

PLANT POST

Hello Friends and Family!!  I have not been blogging lately. I did finish my model stitching for Brenda. I will not be able to show a picture till she releases it. I loved the colors, as always!
My shoulder is still hurting. and now... the Stink Shrub (Sweet Shrub) has came out in full force! I walk outside and get a headache instantly. I have been house bound and I'm an outside person!
These are some Knock Out Roses that hubby saved from a school. He tries to save plants that they have to dig up to renovate the buildings. I guess you could call it re-greening.

Some are not coming back out. When he brought them home they were over 6 feet high and big bushes. He brought them home in a dump truck. The landscape guy told us we could cut them back half way, really water a lot and hope they come back. Well... Some did and some didn't make it.

This is a picture of all the new that is coming out on the ones I thought were goners. I guess they are slow because some are blooming. I will leave them as they are, till fall and see who is still with us and who didn't make it.

That is the dump truck in the background they came to their new home in. They were as tall as the sides. My little rose garden needs some help. That rose bush in the front runs all over the ground if I let it.. I try to keep is bushy. It was here before we were. I need to get my Rose feed out and read it. I'm not a rose person, hubby is.  I try to plant things he likes too.
My timber post you can see some of, in the front of the picture. I hang 2 hanging baskets on it and then I put pots in the pot holders.
I'm a little behind this year.
Hope to blog again in a couple of days. Till Later.....
