A BOUNTY HARVEST AND STITCHING UPDATE

Well.... maybe not a bounty.  My nephew is doing a garden. We furnished some of the vegetables and he is the gardener.  He likes hot peppers, so there is a whole roll just for him. I like bell peppers. That one is enough for my meatloaf tomorrow night. The bell peppers are full of little peppers and more blooms. I pulled the squash to cook for me tonight, it was the only one big enough. I want to fry the squash and green tomato together and add a little onion. Yum!!!
I have not been blogging or reading lately. I have been busy in the yard. We went from wearing a light jacket 2 weeks ago to 87 this week.  No Spring for us this year. Looks like we may have a hot summer. I hate the heat. I love summer for swimming only. If I am outside it better be by water because you will found me jumping in or wetting myself down with that hosepipe laying around!
I have been doing so stitching too. Not as much as I would like. I have been in a pickle lately, trying to decide what to stitch. I finished that AOTH block. I picked colors for the next block and I didn't have 4 of them, so I had to make an order to purchase.  I want so bad to stitch on something Halloween. It has been so hard to decide. I picked about four things, narrowed it down to two. Couldn't make up my mind, so I am stitching both! Sounds like me!

I picked another Blackbird design. I had the linen, floss and leaflet since it came out. I even went and purchased the box. Well, I have decided to stitch it now.. Here is my start:

It is stitched on the called for Confederate Gray Linen 30 Count with the called for over dyed floss. Then I found a project I had started a couple of years ago. I need to finish it soon. The Primitive Needle's - Hornbook Angel.

I would like to get the frame. This picture is off Valley House Primitives Site. I love this frame. This is mine so far:

I also have another project in the works... I work on the Casting A Spell in the living room. I work Hornbook Angel in the sun room. Then I have one I work on in the bed at night.

Santa's Village - Post Office is not getting stitched as fast as I would like it to. I seem to keep falling asleep.  lol
That is all for today.. I have to get up and cook some dinner.
Till Later......

A BLOCK FINISH!

I have finished block #3 of AOTH. This is Joshua's block. I did change one of the greens. I also could not understand the front foot on the rabbit.  I change mine up to make it look better.  I put his birthday and year with his last name initial on the door. I have chose the one with the purple butterfly to do for Zoe.
I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day tomorrow. Nothing special at my house. Dear hubby has to work tomorrow. I am planning to grill in the late afternoon. I will fire up the charcoal grill for 2 pork chops... lol
Happy Memorial Day!

JUST A STITCHING!

This is what I have been stitching. BBD Anniversaries Of The Heart block - A Wish For You.  It will be Joshua's block. I changed out some colors. The GA Harvest basket was the same color as the window outlines, CC Onion Skins. So, it looked like I had just a big square for windows.. I used WDW Fawn for the inside of the windows. So much better.
I have mowed 3 acres of grass and covered a lampshade with fabric today, all before 10:00 am. I am on a roll. Washed 2 loads of clothes and loaded the dishwasher and it is just 1:20 pm..
I have checked out Downton Abbey season 1 and 2 from the library. I am about to pop it in and stitch on the AOTH - BBD.  That will be the rest of the day... Hope all my blog friends in OK are safe and well. Prayers going out for The Midwest States during all these storms. Weather Channel is calling for storms moving across Alabama tonight, but not severe.
Leaving to go stitch with a picture of lampshade I covered today.
It is in the front bedroom. (Kid's Room) . Till Later......

SWEET SHRUB AND HONEYSUCKLE

This is a picture of the Sweet Shrub and Honeysuckle right next to back porch. It smells so good outside.

This is my little fountain I have set up next to the sun room. The plant is from my friend Tam. I had a birthday last Friday. 48th. I met the girls and we all went out to eat at Olive Garden. Great day!

This is my outside stitching area. Chaise is from my mom. She had this OLD sheet from Aunt Deb. We used it growing up camping. Yes, that is a 1970 color green, but that thing is so thick!!  Good made sheet. I have sewn it together and made a cover for the chaise. I will be out there in a little bit, stitching and smelling the shrubs and honeysuckle!  Can't wait!

I tried my hand at table decorating this week. I went to Old Time Pottery and found this round tray and the candle holder shaped like a fish. I had all the shells from beach trips. The blue little fish I got at OTP last year. I just love that store.

I had to do some pattern shopping last week. The McCall's were on special at Hobby Lobby. All McCall's pattern were .99 each.  I could find only 2 in Zoe's size.  Sewing is in my future for her...

That is it for today friends. I had a great Birthday and Mother's Day. I am finishing up a project right now for Michelle. So I am headed out to that back porch and stitch away.
Till Later.....

Brrrrrrrr.... AND I'M IN THE SOUTH (Picture Heavy)

It is so cold here in Bama this morning... It is not flip flop weather yet... 49 degrees on May 6th. What is going on?
I'm catching up on blog reading since we got back from a mini vacation at the beach. I did stitch some on The Christmas Village - Post Office.. No much. Just the top across with the red and white.. No snowflakes stitched yet. I will need to stitch on it at night. I am stitching on model stitching during the day.
We had a great time at the beach, as you can see from this picture!
Beautiful weather no rain.. just some clouds.

We went with our friends Wayne and Debra. Wayne had his car entered in a car show called, Bama Coast Cruise. Here are some pictures:

 Our friend Wayne's car.

This was a guy's Blazer we went to school with. He had his Chevy Blazer entered. We didn't know he was going to be there. I think he placed and won a trophy.

Of course, I love this VW bus. I spoke with the owner, she says they use it everyday to go to work. She had it decorated so cute with pillows with sea horses and beach theme.
My two favorites are pictures below. If I could afford these two, I would be driving them everyday!

But, the best truck there pulled in on Friday to register. The owner got out, she had on a cowboy hat, short shorts, cowboy boots and pig tails. We just had to go over and thank her for representing us gals who love trucks!! This is her truck:

 I love the pink wheels!

She has all kind of jewelry glued on the dash, around the rear view mirror, and everywhere!  She is a Media Artist and decorates everything.

And yes... those are pictures of Pinup Girls on the ceiling of the truck.  She explained that was the only way her husband would ride in the truck.. The truck is still a work in progress. But, I just love it... I asked Hubby if I can Bling out Big Red!  Big Red is a 1994 Chevy 4x4. Red interior. I had all kinds of ideas floating around in the head about painting it black with red wheels and bling out the inside.. I think I heard him say, as he walked away, something like, Over my dead body!  lol

The car show went on for Friday and Saturday. Hubby and I took our scooters in a trailer with us. We unloaded them and set off riding. I just love riding at the beach. Speed limit was 35 to 50 on all the roads. Great to ride and sight see. We decided to ride out to Fort Morgan. It is about a 60 miles round trip for Orange beach. I was ready.. This picture was taken when we arrived.

I am staring. I was cold and wind blown!   lol  Hubby claims the black and cream scooter now. I have the new mint green and white.
I hope one day to graduate to a full motorcycle! That would be great. But, right now I am still learning the leaning part in curves.. lol Here are some pictures of the fort.

They started building Fort Morgan in 1819. There was some buildings there that was used in the War of 1812. I love history.. Do you know where the quote, " Damn the torpedoes, Full speed ahead!" came from? Yes.. Admiral David G. Farragut  of the US Army on board The Ironclad -USS Tecumseh. I didn't know that torpedoes were underwater mines they had sunk in the bay..
If you are interested in some Alabama History here is a link for the fort. http://www.exploresouthernhistory.com/fortmorgan.html.
It really is interesting that the Confederate Ironclad CSS Tennessee held at one time 13 warships from coming into the Mobile Bay. They claim it was the greatest sea battle of the civil war.
So you see, I have been busy busy busy...
More news of importance.. I tried a tattoo!  I fake tattoo to see if I like it.  I don't.. To big.. Glad it will go away in about another week. I don't think I am a tattoo girl.. at least not one on my wrist.

A little sunburned on that arm.

We brought tree crabs home for the grandkids. They are all still alive. They live in a tank now and are changing out shells during the night. They play musical shells..

 Nice leaving the beach picture!
I miss it already!

This is what I came home too... lol
She is glad we are home!

I have bored y'all enough.. Till later...
