STITCHING AWAY

This is the Memorial Sampler I have been working on for my dad. Got most of the vine and flowers done on the left side.. I went ahead and started stitching motifs under the words.. Why?  Because I am off one stitch. This way I can take away a stitch in the vine to make it fit.. lol  I also have another problem....
This angel. The chart called for Little House Brown by CC, for the hair. My color of Little House Brown is not brown.. It is more the flesh tone used for the skin. That is why I switch my hand dyed floss and don't use what they call for sometimes.. The hair and eyes will have to come out and I will hunt a BROWN..  My Angel has no eyes.. You can't see them!  lol Moving along.....

This is the chart I won from Cherrywood Designs.  They had a contest on their Facebook page. They were giving away some charts. You pick and chart and why.. I chose : Eat Sleep Stitch. I have been wanting this one.. But, also that is what I do all the time. Eat Sleep and Stitch.  I won!  Thanks to Cherrywood Designs! They have some cute Halloween charts out! If you get a chance, go to their link here: http://cherrywooddesignstudios.com/ .

Of course, I had to order some more trims from Nancy on her Ebay site. I have been over there this morning looking at her floss.

I don't know why I need trims.. This Brenda pattern was finish with the stitching way before Easter!  Look at it!! Not even sewn together.. I have a drawer full of trims and this could not even be put together!  Shame on me...  I did lay it beside the sewing machine this morning.  Does that help me?  Maybe those Sewing Faries will come visit.. I can hope...
Till Later....

I love your Memorial Sampler. The verse is beautiful. Can you tell me the designer? I think it looks great even if the color is different.

Of course you NEED more trim. Is;nt there a chart out there that says something like NEED HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT?? LOL Great pictures so far. Have a great day!!!

Beautiful memorial sampler! Oh hand dyed floss - sometimes wonderful, sometimes annoying. And I hate having to get out of my comfy stitching chair to go through my stash for a substitute when all I want to do is "eat, sleep and stitch!"

A beautiful sampler! You always get so much done. Me? I'm always running around like a crazy bunny!!! hee, hee, hee.

I'm almost done with my deadline project for Sew We Quilt. Next...send April some stuff to stitch and get back to writing my book!

What beautiful work you do!! I take it trims can be as much an addiction as patterns and fabric? I haven't delved much into trims and extras because I'm just not creative/talented that way. I keep waiting for some of these awesome finishers to make some awesome tutorials!! Can you share Nancy's link?

Love the memorial piece...and a girl can NEVER have too much stash of any kind :o)

Cute finish on the WMN&T piece too...at least it's beside the sewing machine...mine are all in a bottom drawer, out of sight/out of mind :o)

I have always admired this particular Memorial Sampler. You're making great progress on it. I've run into the same problem with the floss many times. Dye lots can vary so much at times.

Congrats on your chart win! Like you, I also have some Easter stitches still sitting here waiting for the final finishing. At this point it will probably be next year before they're done!
